The implementation will bring inbound premium payments and outbound claims disbursements onto a unified platform, according to a One Inc statement. Shelter will use the platform to consolidate payment activity, support digital customer experiences and simplify treasury operations.

Shelter policyholders will be able to use digital options including Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and Venmo, along with bank accounts and debit cards. One Inc also supports multiparty insurance transactions, including lienholder and mortgagee payments.

“Shelter’s selection of One Inc’s payment solutions marks another significant step toward delivering a seamless payment experience for its customers,” comments Ian Drysdale, CEO, One Inc. “We’re excited to partner with Shelter as it modernizes its operations and embraces the advantages of digital payments, tapping into our network to increase their competitive edge.”

Unified Payment Operations

One Inc says its pre-built integrations into modern core systems support cloud-based connections across policy, billing and claims. Shelter will also gain access to One Inc’s vendor network, which includes more than 1.3 million auto, legal and medical providers.

“Our decision to partner with One Inc was driven by their ability to deliver a comprehensive, enterprise solution that supports our ongoing system modernization efforts,” comments Mark Stinson, VP of Financial Operations, Shelter.

Stinson says One Inc will help Shelter streamline customer collections and claims disbursements while supporting electronic claims payment adoption through the vendor network.

One Inc says it serves more than 320 carriers and handles $230 billion in premiums and claims annually. Shelter provides auto, home, life, farm and business insurance in 20 states through more than 2,000 local agents.
