WTW (London) has added graphics processing unit execution to RiskAgility Financial Modeller, its financial modeling platform for life and health insurers.
The release adds GPU execution across RiskAgility Financial Modeller and vGrid, WTW’s scalable on-demand computing resource, according to a WTW statement. The company says the enhancement gives insurers the flexibility to choose between GPU and CPU execution based on the needs of each model.
WTW says the new GPU capability extends the performance of RiskAgility FM’s Gen-2 engine, enabling insurers to run high-volume projections faster and more cost-effectively. The company says early testing has suggested cost savings of up to 100 times in some situations.
“RiskAgility FM has already transformed the economics of actuarial modeling through our Gen-2 engine,” comments Mark Brown, Global Life Lead, Insurance Consulting and Technology, WTW. “GPU capabilities now take that further, helping insurers optimize each model and accelerate high-volume projections with greater efficiency.”
WTW says the release is intended to support faster pricing, financial and capital-modeling decisions by combining GPU acceleration, Gen-2 efficiency and AI capabilities within a governed modeling and reporting platform. The company says the added execution option can help pricing teams develop products closer to real time and enable executives to interrogate models more directly when evaluating business outcomes.
“This marks an important step towards a more accessible, insight-driven future for financial and capital modeling—where performance, intelligence and usability come together to help insurers respond faster and make better decisions,” adds Brown.
