Wilton Re (Norwalk, Conn.) has completed the conversion of more than 400,000 policies to DXC Technology (Ashburn, Va.)’s cloud-based insurance policy administration platform.
The program migrated policies from prior DXC technologies onto DXC’s Wealth Management Accelerator, a cloud-based policy administration platform, according to a DXC statement. DXC says the conversion was one of the largest and most complex transformation programs in the company’s history.
Wilton Re, a provider of in-force and reinsurance solutions for the North American life insurance industry, has standardized on the DXC platform to support acquired life and annuity blocks of business. The company expects the common operating environment to support faster integration of future acquisitions, greater operational efficiency and future AI-enabled workflow capabilities.
Supporting In-Force Block Integration
Wilton Re has worked with DXC for more than 20 years. DXC says the relationship has supported Wilton Re’s growth from about 5,000 policies in 2005 to more than 500,000 today.
DXC Business Process Services operates much of Wilton Re’s core insurance environment, including policy administration, claims processing and customer service. DXC says it also supports Wilton Re acquisitions by integrating systems, data, product rules, processes and, in some cases, operational teams from originating insurers.
“Our 20-year partnership with Wilton Re reflects what long-term execution with excellence at scale looks like,” comments Ray August, President, Insurance Software and Business Process Services, DXC. “This transformation helps Wilton Re grow its business, integrate acquisitions faster, operate more efficiently, and deliver a better experience for policyholders. Together, we have completed one of the largest and most operationally complex transformation programs in our history.”
DXC says its insurance operations include more than 6,000 insurance specialists globally, more than 13 million policies and contracts under administration, and more than 200 conversions from legacy systems.
Building an AI-Ready Foundation
By consolidating onto DXC’s cloud-based platform, Wilton Re has established a foundation for future AI-enabled workflow capabilities without requiring an additional core-system transformation, according to DXC.
“DXC has been far more than a technology provider,” comments Enrico Treglia, SVP, COO, Wilton Re. “In addition to supporting the integration of multiple acquisitions, they play a critical role in our day-to-day operations, from policy administration and customer service to key financial processes. The partnership has helped us operate more efficiently, execute acquisitions more effectively, and better serve our policyholders while maintaining the high standards that define our business.”
Wilton Re says it has converted 27 legacy systems to its DXC-based administration platform over the past 22 years, creating cost efficiencies and improving technology, controls and administrative processes.
