Western National Chooses SiSi Group for Legacy System Replacement Data Conversion

As part of its implementation of CSC’s Exceed Billing system, WNIG looked to SiSi group to complement the carrier’s limited internal capacity for the conversion effort, as well as the vendor’s past success with similar projects, its expertise and its range of tools.

Western National Insurance Group (WNIG; Edina, Minn.) has selected Strategic Insurance Systems Initiatives Group (SiSi Group) to provide data conversion services in support of the P&C company’s project to implement CSC’s Exceed Billing system. The engagement will comprise the conversion of both personal and commercial lines data from WNIG’s two legacy billing platforms.

“We have a great deal of confidence in SiSi Group’s experience to help us ensure a successful and efficient data conversion effort,” comments Mike Braun, SVP, IT, WNIG. “The combination of the skill of the SiSi Group staff, the software they bring to the project, and the fact that SiSi Group has been extremely easy to work with were all contributing factors to our decision.”

WNIG looked to SiSi group to complement the carrier’s limited internal capacity for the conversion effort, as well as the vendor’s past success with similar projects, its expertise and its range of tools, including SiSi Group’s proprietary Data Evolver data conversion software, according to a vendor statement.

“We knew that choosing the new billing system was only part of the battle,” comments Carol Arel, Corporate Controller, WNIG, and executive sponsor of the project. “Migrating the data from the old systems, including all of the necessary data validation and clean up, also presented a sizable task.”

The WNIG data conversion project will encompass all WNIG lines of business, including: personal lines for auto, home, condo, renters, dwelling property, boat & motor, motorcycle/ATV, snowmobile and umbrella; and commercial lines for BOP, workers’ comp, umbrella, commercial auto, commercial package policy (CPP), crime, boiler, earthquake, employment practices liability (EPL), fire and allied lines, general liability, inland marine, and surety bonds. The project will be completed in phases with personal and commercial lines data for the two legacy systems being handled each as a standalone conversion effort.
