United Fire Group Transforms Core Operations and Data Capabilities with Guidewire

PwC will lead the implementation, aimed at issuing policies more efficiently, improving underwriter decision making, providing greater data accessibility and, enhancing agent experience.

United Fire Group, Inc. (UFG; Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has selected Guidewire Software (Foster City, Calif.) Core and Data products to modernize its systems environment and support business process transformation. UFG selected PwC US (New York), a Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting Premier member, to lead the implementation project.

UFG sought a vendor with a strong track record of successful insurance platform implementation projects, Guidewire reports. UFG will use the vendor’s products toward the objectives of issuing policies more efficiently, improving underwriter decision making, providing greater data accessibility and, enhancing the ease of doing business for agents.

“We are taking a proactive approach to modernize our systems and create the opportunity for transformational change,” comments Mike Wilkins, executive VP and chief operating officer, UFG. “The goal is to build a platform that enhances our processing capabilities and creates a central data structure to guide strategic decision making.”

Guidewire describes capabilities its Core and Data products will give UFG as follows:

  • Empower underwriters to increase focus on agent relationships through more automated system processing; and
