Transamerica (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) has named two leaders to its Retirement Distribution team as the company seeks to build on growth in its retirement business.
Kevin Murphy has joined Transamerica as National Sales Manager, Large Market, and Danny Kling has been promoted to National Sales Manager, Mid Market, according to a Transamerica statement. Both will report to Darren Zino, Head of Retirement Distribution.
The appointments are intended to strengthen Transamerica’s ability to serve employers, advisors and retirement savers. The company says its retirement business supports more than $253 billion in retirement plan assets.
“Transamerica is building on significant momentum,” comments Zino. “We’re seeing strong growth across our retirement business, and we’re investing in the people who can help us keep raising the bar. Danny and Kevin are accomplished leaders with deep industry experience, and their appointments reflect our commitment to investing in the talent and leadership needed to support clients and drive our business forward. We’re confident their perspectives and contributions will help us meet the needs of clients today while expanding access to retirement solutions for more Americans.”
Zino says the appointments reflect Transamerica’s investment in talent and leadership to support clients and expand access to retirement solutions.
Two Decades of Financial Services Experience
Murphy brings more than 20 years of financial services experience, including workplace retirement distribution, institutional sales, strategic accounts and enterprise growth. Before joining Transamerica, he held senior leadership roles at Broadridge, Franklin Templeton and other firms.
In his new role, Murphy will lead Large Market Distribution and support growth strategies, strategic relationships and market expansion.
Cultivating Sales Talent
Kling has held retirement sales and advisor engagement roles at Transamerica, most recently serving as Divisional Sales Manager. Transamerica says he has helped develop sales talent, coach teams and support client and partner outcomes.
In his new role, Kling succeeds Brian Walker, who will retire Oct. 1 after a career in Transamerica’s retirement business.
Transamerica says the leadership appointments come amid sales growth in pooled plans and increased demand for IRA and stable value products.
Transamerica provides life insurance, retirement and investment products and services. The company is part of the Aegon group of companies.
