Topa Insurance Group, a Calabasas, Calif.-based specialty property-casualty insurer, has announced that Susan Pavone has been promoted to Vice President of Underwriting.
Pavone joined the company in 2016 as Senior Brokerage Operations and Compliance Manager. She was promoted to AVP of Underwriting where she oversaw underwriting strategy, process and operations. Pavone has streamlined many of the company’s internal and external processes while working with our business partners and internal business units.
In her new role, Pavone will oversee the commercial underwriting of Topa Insurance Company and be responsible for setting underwriting strategies, overall underwriting portfolio management, guidelines, and production.

Pavone brings over 30 years of insurance experience to the role. She has worked in a variety of leadership positions including underwriting, operations, investment, claims and technology. She earned her MBA from California State University, Northridge, and holds the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) and Market Conduct Management (MCM) designations. She is the Underwriting Chair on the California FAIR Plan’s underwriting committee and previously served as the Vice President of the El Camino CPCU chapter.
