The WRC Group (Madison, Wisc.) has selected ISCS’s cloud-based modern enterprise suite, SurePower Innovation, as is policy administration platform for the agents and policyholders of WRC’s subsidiary 1st Auto & Casualty Insurance Company.

1st Auto was established in 1991 by Wisconsin Reinsurance Corporation to offer personal automobile insurance to the agents affiliated with the Wisconsin mutuals reinsured by WRC. Over the years, the product lines offered by 1st Auto have expanded to include farm trucks, commercial automobile, personal umbrella and personal and farm liability policies, reports ISCS. To keep up with growth and emerging technology, The WRC Group sought a partner to offer a dynamic suite of cloud-hosted software with the flexible functionality and scalability demanded by consumer in the competitive insurance marketplace, according to the vendor.

Among The WRC Group’s requirements for a new core administration suite were the ability to move to near 100 percent straight-through processing of policies to speed closure of new business and increase agent independence. A joint statement asserts that the streamlined workflow, made possible by the implementation of a complete managed SaaS solution via the vendor’s SurePackage deployment option, will increase communication between the agents and underwriters, improve process efficiencies and provide a more robust reporting environment. The additional availability of an insured portal and mobile functionality inherent to the SurePower Innovation platform, provides WRC with opportunities to exceed end user and distribution channel partner expectations and improve efficiency, the statement adds.

“ISCS’s commitment to ongoing software development, taking into consideration developing trends in technology and insurance, was one of the big draws for us,” comments Cathy McAnaugh, SVP, The WRC Group. “We appreciate the efficiencies the software extends to the agent /underwriter business process. And, knowing that ISCS will be right beside us, constantly improving and mainstreaming our systems, gives us great confidence in our selection.”

ISCS describes SurePower Innovation as a modern technology platform from which insurers can automate much more than core (policy, billing and claims), including reinsurance, business intelligence, mobile, payables, document management and agent/consumer portals. The vendor characterizes SurePower Innovation as being highly-scalable and configurable, and as such delivers increased agility and enhanced business continuity/disaster recovery capabilities when the suite is delivered as a complete managed SaaS solution via ISCS’s SurePackage deployment option.

STP and Underwriter Communication Goals

“The foundational STP and agent/underwriter communication goals The WRC Group set for this implementation are things that get overlooked by many insurers today in favor of ‘shiny objects,’” comments Andy Scurto, president, ISCS. “Fortunately, SurePower Innovation can handle the core administration needs of any modern P&C insurer, while enabling immediate expansion into more cutting-edge areas as well.”
