Southern Trust Insurance Deploys Insuresoft’s Diamond Platform

Among the gains from the legacy replacement initiative is a uniformly positive reaction from agents at the increased ease-of-doing-business that the platform affords.

Southern Trust Insurance Company (Macon, Ga.) has deployed Insuresoft’s (University Park, Ill.) Diamond platform for its auto, homeowner and umbrella lines of business. The vendor describes Diamond as a digital insurance platform for property/casualty insurers comprising policy, billing, claims, data, and analytics capabilities.

Insuresoft reports that in the spring of 2019, Southern Trust contracted the vendor to implement its personal lines products on the Diamond platform. The two teams collaborated to define a new auto program that could be more competitive in the marketplace, with better third-party and report-ordering interfaces for a more streamlined business process, an Insuresoft statement says.

Auto insurance went live on the Diamond platform in March 2020, 10 months after the implementation process was begun. Homeowners insurance followed, going live in June 2020, followed by umbrella in July 2020. Based on the insurer’s success with personal lines on the Insuresoft Diamond platform, Southern Trust decided to manage its commercial lines on Diamond as well, according to the Insuresoft statement. Commercial auto, the business owner policy (BOP) and other commercial lines will be tackled during the next phases of implementation.

“I give Insuresoft high A+ marks for both discovery and implementation,” says Travis Brank, SVP, Product and Pricing, Southern Trust. “Their team was fantastic at sticking to deadlines, keeping us updated and leading the process. They responded with urgency and they were also very flexible.”

Ease of Doing Business

The insurer’s agents’ response to the implementation has been uniformly positive, according to Brank. “In the past, agents did business with us because of the relationship,” he notes. “Now they also do business with us because we’re easy to work with.”

Brank reports that among agents’ favorite features of the new solution include data prefill, which affords agents significant time savings, as well as Diamond’s mobile app and customer portal, which allow agents and customers to easily access policy information.

“It is refreshing to work with an insurance technology organization in meeting expectations for both parties,” comments Les Cole, President, Southern Trust.
