Southern Oak Insurance Company (Jacksonville, Florida), a provider of personal residential property coverage, has adopted ZestyAI (San Francisco, California)’s property risk platform to enhance visibility into property condition and exposure across its homeowners portfolio.
By analyzing structural and environmental vulnerabilities such as roof degradation, overhanging vegetation, yard debris, and secondary structures, the platform enables Southern Oak to take targeted actions to reduce losses and manage exposure. The property-level insights also help the company monitor shifting risk conditions across Florida’s challenging property/casualty market.
Southern Oak is using two capabilities within ZestyAI’s Z-PROPERTY platform:
- Digital Roof, which uses AI and high-resolution aerial imagery to evaluate roof condition, materials, and complexity, identifying structural vulnerabilities before they lead to claims.
- Location Insights, which analyzes parcel-level factors such as vegetation overhang and yard debris that may exacerbate storm losses or increase claim severity.
“ZestyAI stood out for its ability to provide deep, 3D visibility into the condition and complexity of the properties we insure,” says Tony Loughman, CEO, Southern Oak Insurance Company. “These insights help us improve our risk decisions and manage exposure more effectively across a high-risk geography, while continuing to deliver value and stability to our policyholders.”
“Southern Oak is taking a proactive, data-driven approach to strengthen portfolio decisions,” says Attila Toth, CEO, ZestyAI. “In Florida’s uniquely challenging insurance market, resilience depends on seeing risk clearly at the property level and acting on it.”
