The Westport Group, a Braintree, Mass.-based provider of customized disability and life insurance solutions, has named Shelly Mushinski as Director of Enrollment and Implementation. In this role, Mushinski will work directly with clients to ensure a smooth and successful enrollment experience and oversee ongoing management of client plans within the law, corporate, asset management and private equity industries, according to a Westport Group statement.

Mushinski brings more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry to The Westport Group, joining the company with a long history of worksite marketing know-how, specializing in enrollment and implementation of executive voluntary benefits. Most recently, she served as Director of Implementation and Enrollment at Guardian Life Insurance Company of America (New York. While there, she focused on strategic, results-based enrollment solutions and effective, customer-first service models. Through those efforts, Mushinski played a key role in helping Guardian drive carrier growth, establish market influence, and achieve industry-leading volunteer participation rates. Prior to Guardian, Mushinski served as a Relationship Manager at MassMutual Financial Group.

First-of-its-Kind Application

“Shelly will be responsible for the architecture surrounding The Westport Group’s new electronic enrollment system created to support our first-in-class high-limit disability products and to include the Executive Income Insurance Program—our patent pending product,” comments Chris Kristian, Executive VP, Managing Director, The Westport Group. “This will be a first-of-its-kind application that will incorporate a secure handshake linking a domestic insurance enrollment system with an international product solution through Westport.  The application will be utilized across several different electronic mediums.”
