Seibels conducted a comprehensive search for an enterprise content management (ECM) solution that served as more than just a content repository, according to Hyland. Seibels selected OnBase because of the vendor’s insurance industry reputation and installed base, because of the application’s integration with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, and because of its range of capability, including ECM, case management, business process management, records management and capture functionalities, according to Hyland.

“Over the past year, we’ve made tremendous investments into our technology portfolio to give us the right tools to provide superior customer service with a lower total cost of ownership,” comments Steve Harding, VP, insurance services, Seibels. “From our first interaction with Hyland, it was evident that we’d selected the right technology partner to help us achieve success with proven insurance solutions to improve business agility and enhance operational efficiencies.”

Implementation of OnBase will enable Seibels to achieve records management capabilities and enhanced security throughout the content lifecycle with powerful encryption components that meet PCI and DSS compliance standards, according to Hyland. Benefits include simplified security policies and granular control over data accessibility. Once retention dates have been met, the enterprise information platform automatically sends documents for appropriate final disposition, according to requirements.

Additional information management capabilities Seibels gains with OnBase include:

  • Out-of-the-box Workflow and Case Management capabilities to manage and improve both unstructured work and structured, repeatable processes, according to the vendor.
  • Integration with Microsoft Outlook to access essential content directly from employees’ inboxes, capturing emails and attachments, and linking them to the appropriate customers or processes.
  • Data capture solutions utilizing Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to automatically extract and validate critical information then update relevant systems.

“The long-term viability and robust functionality within OnBase will bring true transformation to operations at Seibels,” comments Cara McFarlane, global insurance portfolio marketing manager at Hyland. “By selecting two best-in-class solutions, OnBase integrated with Guidewire InsuranceSuite, Seibels is set up for success not only in its immediate underwriting projects but also with its future plans to extend OnBase throughout the enterprise.”
