SURA (Suramericana; Medellín, Colombia.), the largest insurer in Colombia, has announced that it has deployed Guidewire InsuranceSuite, along with several other Guidewire (Foster City, Calif.) solutions, to support underwriting, policy administration, claims, client data, rating, reinsurance, and billing management, in its personal auto line business. This is SURA’s first Guidewire implementation in a multi-line rollout that will continue with 15 additional lines of business, according to a vendor statement.

“InsuranceSuite provides us with the ability to manage our core operations on a single, natively-connected platform,” comments Valentina Sierra Toro, director, SURA.“With InsuranceSuite, we are able to simplify the underwriting process by automating manual processes, thereby increasing operational efficiency, employee productivity, and collaboration. Feedback from users has been positive and they are satisfied with the new solutions.”

“We had an aging core system, so InsuranceSuite is helping us modernize and transform the way we do business by standardizing using best practices,” comments David Andrés Cardona Londoño, director, Core Project Architecture, SURA. “InsuranceSuite enables us to improve time-to-market by increasing our responsiveness to changing business and technical requirements by bringing new products and product enhancements to market more quickly. We are now able to better handle large group policy transactions that carry a lot of risk, as well as different currencies for multichannel and international products.”

“We congratulate SURA on its successful InsuranceSuite deployment,” comments Mike Polelle, chief delivery officer, Guidewire Software. “We are pleased that the products are providing SURA with the foundation to meet the needs of its policyholders and offer them peace of mind.”
