Sapiens (London) has appointed Nazir Esmail Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer and Maggie Fox Chief Marketing Officer, expanding its leadership team ahead of the company’s Ignite Customer Summit in Nashville next month.
Esmail joins Sapiens Sept. 21, 2026, as the company’s first Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer, according to a Sapiens statement. Fox will join later this year as CMO.
The appointments come as Sapiens positions its insurance software business around AI-centric, SaaS-based systems and agentic workflows for policy, underwriting, claims, reinsurance, decisioning, finance and compliance.
“As we continue to Advance the Possible, getting the right leadership in place accelerates everything else we’re trying to do,” comments Paul Wheeler, CEO Designate and Board Member, Sapiens. “Nazir and Maggie bring exactly the experience and caliber we need as we accelerate our strategy.”
Autonomous Enterprise Role
In the newly created Chief Autonomous Enterprise Officer role, Esmail will lead the enterprise foundations intended to support Sapiens’ use of AI and autonomous technologies. The role brings together technology, data, systems and security capabilities across the company.
Esmail brings more than 25 years of global technology and transformation leadership experience. He joins Sapiens from SoftwareOne, where he was CIO and Digital Transformation Officer, leading the company’s global technology organization and transformation agenda.
His experience includes enterprise platforms, data, AI, cybersecurity and large-scale transformation.
“The chance to build the enterprise foundations that will let Sapiens work safely and effectively with AI and autonomous technology, at this stage in the company’s journey, is exactly the kind of challenge I enjoy,” Esmail comments.
Esmail says he will work with the Sapiens team to bring technology, data, systems and security capabilities together.
Fox brings global marketing, digital and leadership experience. She is a two-time CMO and start-up founder and previously served as Global SVP of Digital Marketing, SAP. Most recently, she served as SVP, Portfolio and Digital Marketing, AVEVA.
“Sapiens is at a defining moment, and marketing has a real role to play in telling that story for our customers and for the market,” Fox comments. “I’m excited to join a company with this depth of industry expertise and to help build a brand that matches the ambition of what Sapiens is doing for insurers around the world.”
Sapiens provides insurance software for property/casualty, life, reinsurance, specialty and workers’ compensation carriers. The company says more than 600 insurers in over 30 countries use its systems.
