Global Atlantic Financial Group (Des Moines), a U.S.-focused retirement, life insurance and reinsurance company, has hired Sam Barnett as Head of Sales for the company’s life insurance business. Barnett, a 20-plus year veteran of the life insurance industry, will be responsible for creating and executing the company’s life insurance sales strategy.
“Sam is the ideal person to lead our life sales growth,” comments David Wilken, President, Traditional Life, Global Atlantic. “His insight and experience are a great fit to lead the talented sales team we have in place and drive our continued growth.”
Barnett most recently served as National Sales Manager of Brokerage Distribution for Lincoln Financial, creating and executing a strategic business plan for sales growth. His team generated over $1 billion in sales, including more than $300 million of life insurance target premium, according to a Global Atlantic statement.
Barnett assumed the National Sales Manager position after playing an integral role in the merger of Lincoln and Jefferson Pilot. In that capacity he ensured a successful integration of all facets of life sales. His prior successes include service as a Divisional Sales Manager, Senior Regional Account Manager and life insurance agent.
