Royal & Sun Alliance Canada (RSA, Toronto) has selected OnBase by Hyland (Cleveland) as its enterprise content management (ECM) solution. The insurer selected the system after a rigorous process undertaken to identify an ECM application to fit within RSA’s claims transformation, centered on Guidewire Software’s (Foster City, Calif.) ClaimCenter product.

“We were seeking a vendor with proven and repeatable experience working with multifaceted ClaimCenter deployments,” comments Jullie Hands, VP, claims technology, RSA Canada. “Hyland’s expertise within the insurance market and collaborative relationship with Guidewire stood out to us and positioned OnBase as the most appropriate solution to accelerate the integration process, streamline operations and improve customer service.”

Hyland reports that RSA Canada will enjoy the following benefits as a result of integrating OnBase with ClaimCenter:

  • Automated mailroom capture to streamline activity creation in ClaimCenter for adjusters and supervisors to review documents associated with a claim.
  • User-specific views in ClaimCenter and filtering options to retrieve documents that pertain to the specific work item at the claim level, by exposure and insured.
  • Outbound correspondence automation and claims packet creation to drive improved service levels within RSA’s broker distribution network and policyholders.
  • Process efficiencies due to transitioning from paper-based to electronic file management.

“The validated OnBase Ready for Guidewire accelerators will provide RSA Canada with a highly configurable application to decrease risk, provide easier upgrade paths for both ClaimCenter and OnBase and enhance users’ experience with a seamless user interface,” comments Colin Toomey, director of insurance, Hyland.
