Promutuel Selects Guidewire PolicyCenter for Next-Phase Modernization

The Quebec City-based P&C insurer will implement Guidewire PolicyCenter for underwriting and policy administration for commercial and farm lines.

Having successfully deployed Guidewire ClaimCenter as part of its business transformation initiative, Quebec City-based Promutuel Insurance has selected the vendor’s PolicyCenter system as its new underwriting and policy administration solution for the carrier’s commercial and farm lines of business. Promutuel will also implement Guidewire Rating and Guidewire Reinsurance Management with in a project led by Quebec-based systems integrator V-NEO.

As Promutuel moved beyond the implementation of new claims capabilities, the insurer was looking for a system to help it automate several business processes eliminating clerical tasks and synchronize its underwriting and policy administration efforts across its network of 26 mutual insurance associations, according to a Guidewire statement.

Among those benefits, according to the Guidewire statement, are the ability to:

  • Enhance operational efficiency through automation across underwriting and policy administration processes;
  • Obtain more precise control, consistency, and responsiveness over rating and pricing through all phases of the product lifecycle;
  • Leverage built-in best practices in business processes and services to standardize across its mutual companies; and
  • Provide more efficient, accurate customer service and better identify opportunities for cross- and up-selling.
