Famous for its success in direct sales of personal auto insurance, The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies (Mayfield Village, Ohio) has selected Accenture Duck Creek’s (New York) policy and rating software to improve agent ease-of-doing-business in its commercial lines operation. Progressive sees Accenture Duck Creek as a growth platform that will also facilitate greater product speed-to-market and improve customer service by providing a common system for policy, underwriting and rating for its commercial business.
Progressive’s goal is to make it easier to do business with its independent agents and customers according to an Accenture Duck Creek statement. The vendor’s systems will support that ambition by providing Progressive with a “single point of change” for managing product and business rules across its online, agency and call center channels, the statement asserts. The new platform will also allow Progressive customers to access their information through their preferred channel, Accenture says.
Progressive sees Accenture Duck Creek as aligned with the insurer’s business direction and offering the configuration, product design and rating engine best suited to the carrier’s current and future needs, according to John Barbagallo, president of Progressive’s Commercial Lines business. “Delivering innovative products and services to our customers and agents is what drives us,” he comments. “Getting new solutions to market quickly, with quality and consistency across all customer and agent touch points is the primary focus of our platform modernization effort.”
