Phyn (Torrance, Calif.) has expanded its water monitoring and protection portfolio, adding products for homes, larger residences and commercial properties.

The announcement, made at InsureTech Connect in Las Vegas, includes Phyn Protect, Phyn Assist and the Phyn Protect XL Series. The company also announced an expanded relationship with Asurion across the LeakProtect product suite and introduced the Phyn Partner Advantage program for insurance agencies, brokers and carriers.

Ryan Kim, CEO, Phyn.

Phyn says the expanded portfolio is intended to help insurers and agency partners make proactive water protection more accessible to policyholders. The products range from a lower-cost, DIY-friendly monitoring solution to whole-home water monitoring with automatic shutoff and products for larger properties.

“Insurance carriers are looking for practical, scalable ways to move from reacting to water damage to preventing it, and Phyn is uniquely positioned to help them make that shift,” comments Ryan Kim, CEO, Phyn.

Kim says the expanded portfolio gives insurers and agency partners a broader range of water protection options, with simple installation, lower upfront costs and flexible subscription models.

From Monitoring to Shutoff

Phyn Protect becomes the company’s flagship whole-home smart water monitoring device, succeeding Phyn Plus. The product includes high-definition pressure and ultrasonic flow sensing, automatic shutoff and updated product design.

Phyn Assist, formerly Phyn Smart Water Assistant, is designed as a lower-cost monitoring option without automatic shutoff. The product connects to a washing machine’s cold-water supply line and uses Phyn’s pressure-sensing technology and AI-powered intelligence to monitor plumbing across the home for issues such as running toilets, dripping faucets, pinhole leaks and burst pipes.

Phyn says its intelligence has been trained on more than 4 billion water events.

The Phyn Protect XL Series, including Phyn Protect XL 1.5 and Phyn Protect XL 2, extends Phyn’s water-sensing technology to larger homes, multifamily properties and commercial properties with supply lines up to 2 inches.

Jonathan Scott, CEO, Scott Brothers Global.

“The home of the future isn’t just going to be smarter, it’s going to be more resilient,” comments Jonathan Scott, entrepreneur, home renovation expert and CEO, Scott Brothers Global. “I’ve seen how vulnerable a property can be to something as simple as a hidden leak, and I’ve also seen how technology can change that equation.”

Scott, a Phyn investor and board member, says proactive technologies such as Phyn should be part of the industry’s conversation about how homes are built and protected.

Insurance Partner Program

Phyn also launched the Phyn Partner Advantage program, an ecosystem designed to help insurance agencies, brokers and carriers promote proactive water-loss prevention to homeowners.

The program includes partner support, onboarding, referral benefits, insurance-specific training, co-branded marketing resources, sales enablement tools, lead and customer management through a partner portal, and ongoing education and product support.

Phyn says it now powers the full suite of Asurion’s LeakProtect offerings. Phyn Assist supports LeakProtect Essential, Phyn Protect supports LeakProtect Standard and Phyn Protect XL supports LeakProtect XL.

The company says it is the only provider whose technology spans all three tiers of Asurion’s LeakProtect program.

Phyn is exhibiting at ITC Vegas booth 919. Scott is scheduled for a main-stage session on Oct. 1, followed by a meet-and-greet at the Phyn booth.
