OneShield (Marlborough, Mass.) has expanded deployment of its AI Hub platform after a Michigan-based specialty insurance provider selected the system to support next-generation insurance operations.

The AI Hub platform is designed to function as an artificial intelligence operating layer for insurers, enabling integration of large language models and automated decision tools with existing insurance systems.

“AI is fundamentally reshaping how insurance technology is built and used,” comments Tony Villa, CEO, OneShield. “Because OneShield already sits at the center of insurers’ operational workflows, we have the context needed to apply agentic AI and related tooling in meaningful ways. OneShield’s AI Hub introduces agentic capabilities intended to strengthen the system of record while supporting product development, underwriting and operational decision-making.”

Insurance-Specific Plug-ins

The platform includes governance controls and insurance-specific plug-ins designed to operate alongside existing policy administration and operational systems without requiring replacement of core infrastructure.

Insurers using OneShield’s OMS and OSE platforms can integrate AI Hub plug-ins intended to streamline product development, underwriting workflows and operational processes.

“The AI Hub is not a new core system,” says Doug Moore, Chief Innovation Officer, OneShield. “It is an AI-native platform with plug-in applications that work with data from any source, giving insurers an intelligent layer across their existing infrastructure. This approach is designed to allow insurers to benefit from AI capabilities without replacing existing systems.”

OneShield provides technology platforms for property/casualty insurers, including policy administration, billing and claims management systems.
