Obin AI (New York) has raised $7 million in seed funding led by Motive Partners (New York) as it emerged from stealth to launch its enterprise AI platform for financial institutions. The round also includes participation from angel investors and advisors Dr. Fei-Fei Li and Lukasz Kaiser, figures in both foundational AI research and financial services investing.
The platform is designed to deploy AI agents that support workflows such as risk assessment, underwriting and capital allocation, with a focus on accuracy, auditability and regulatory alignment in financial services environments.
“In financial services, you can be 95 percent accurate and still be 100 percent wrong,” says Apoorv Saxena, Co-founder and CEO, Obin AI. “In a regulated industry managing billions or trillions of dollars, that final margin of error determines whether AI can be trusted. We built Obin AI to solve for that ‘last mile,’ where institutions can rely on AI to support high-stakes, firmwide decisions with confidence.”
The company says its platform enables financial institutions to expand operational capacity by embedding AI agents directly into core workflows, allowing firms to process data, evaluate risk and support decision-making without replacing human oversight.
Obin AI is built on an open architecture model that allows institutions to retain control of their data, models and intellectual property, while maintaining auditability and governance standards required in regulated environments.
The platform is designed to incorporate historical data, legacy documents and unstructured records, enabling AI agents to analyze long-term institutional context and support complex financial decision-making.
Long-Tail Reliability
“In an increasingly crowded AI landscape, Obin AI stands apart,” says Ramin Niroumand, Partner, Investments & Head of Venture, Motive Partners. “Led by a veteran team with a track record of scaling production-grade AI, Obin AI understands the complexity required to deliver the long-tail reliability that financial institutions demand.”
The company says it has already secured engagements with large financial institutions, with deployments moving from pilot to production within weeks.
“Obin AI has successfully bridged the gap from baseline agentic AI outputs to production-grade performance,” says E-John Lee, COO, Pinegrove Venture Partners. “This has enabled us to confidently replace an existing workflow rather than merely drive incremental efficiencies.”
