Norway’s SpareBank 1 Insurance Chooses Hyland OnBase ECM System

Integrating OnBase with SB1F core systems will harmonize work processes and provide quicker access to important records for case workers.

SpareBank1 Forsikring (SB1F, Oslo), part of the SpareBank 1 Group—one of the largest providers of financial products and services in the Norwegian market—has selected OnBase by Hyland (Westlake, Ohio) as its enterprise content management (ECM) system.

SB1F provides life and general insurance services via the banks in the SpareBank 1 Alliance, and as an independent insurer. With nearly 600 employees at its headquarters in Oslo working directly with its data archive, as well as customers, bank advisors and brokers accessing documents via SB1F’s portals, SB1F needed to replace its archive systems with a consolidated solution to improve systems architecture and accelerate work processes, a Hyland statement reports. The insurer sought an advanced and robust, yet agile enterprise content management (ECM) solution to harmonize, optimize and automate processes across business areas and increase workplace efficiency, according to the vendor.

Capabilities OnBase provides to SB1F include the following, according to the Hyland statement:

  • Simplify systems architecture, maintainability and development through consolidation into one common archive based on a modern and future-proof platform
  • Reduce costs by increased automation of important business functions
  • Improve its ability to keep up with business needs along with adherence to regulatory requirements
  • Improve organizational efficiency and regulatory compliance through management and control of digital content sharing with various stakeholders, business partners and customers
