The Phoenix Companies, a Hartford-based life and annuities company, has promoted Jody A. Beresin to executive vice president and chief administrative officer with her assumption of responsibility for the company’s Information Technology department. John Presch continues to hold the CIO title, reporting to Beresin.
Beresin joined The Phoenix Companies as director of Corporate Communications in 1994 and held increasingly senior roles before her promotion to vice president in 2004. She took on responsibility for Human Resources in 2004 and was promoted to senior vice president in 2012 after taking on additional responsibility for Corporate Communications and Corporate Services. She took on responsibility for IT earlier this year. She reports to James D. Wehr, Phoenix’s president and CEO.
“As a member of the executive management team for the past two years, Jody has made important contributions to a variety of corporate initiatives and been a strong partner for me,” Wehr comments.
Prior to joining Phoenix, Ms. Beresin was director of public relations at The Travelers Companies and an account executive at an advertising agency.
Founded as a life insurance company in 1851, Phoenix offers products and services designed to meet financial needs in the middle income and mass affluent markets. Its distribution subsidiary, Saybrus Partners, Inc., offers solutions-based sales support to financial professionals and represents Phoenix’s products among key distributors, including independent marketing organizations and brokerage general agencies.
