Midwest Builders’ Casualty (Kansas City, Mo.), an underwriter of workers’ compensation insurance specializing in the commercial construction and manufacturing industries throughout the Midwest, has selected Tropics Breeze suite (Sarasota, Fla., an Insurity company) as its workers’ compensation core processing system. The insurer will implement Tropics Breeze policy, billing, claims and portal modules, according to the vendor.

The selection of the Tropics software products came as a result of Midwest Builders’ Casualty’s review of its core system environment early in 2016. The insurer determined that investing in a new core system would offer a variety of benefits, including business flexibility, easier integration with other third-party vendor and regulatory solutions, and improved software user experience for its policyholders, agents and internal employees, according to a Tropics statement.

Excellent Reputation in the Marketplace

“We conducted a thorough software vendor evaluation process and ultimately selected Tropics Breeze based on Tropics’ excellent reputation in the marketplace, its focus on the workers’ compensation line of business, the robust functionality included in the system and their commitment to continuous investment in the R&D of the system,” comments John Crowley, President, Midwest Builders’ Casualty.

“We are excited to add Midwest Builders’ Casualty to our growing client base of workers’ compensation insurers,” comments Jeremy Williams, COO, Tropics. “We are confident that Tropics Breeze will support Midwest Builders’ Casualty’s goals of profitable business expansion, while ensuring that its employees, agents and policyholders have an effective and efficient core system user experience.”
