LexisNexis Risk Solutions (Alpharetta, Ga.) has introduced new data intelligence capabilities for U.K. motor claims, designed to help insurers, MGAs and claims ecosystem partners make more informed decisions from first notification of loss through settlement.

The company says the new capabilities are intended to address data quality and connectivity challenges in claims workflows, including incomplete or inaccurate information at FNOL, manual intervention across validation and investigation, and limited early-stage detection of suspicious claims activity.

“While pricing and underwriting have become increasingly data-driven, claims handling often still relies on fragmented, reactive processes,” comments Tom Clarke, Motor Strategy Director, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. “This is a growing problem in motor insurance as claim complexity rises, customer expectations increase and operational pressures intensify. We see a clear market need for richer real-time insight at the point of claim. Our initial focus areas tackle the biggest priorities for the market right now—third party contact details and validation of windscreen features at FNOL.”

LexisNexis Risk Solutions says the claims intelligence capabilities will be delivered through a single API integration, giving insurance providers, MGAs, claims management companies, repair networks, credit hire organizations, salvage operators and supply chain partners access to connected data across multiple claims intelligence solutions.

At FNOL, the company says more detailed data will help claims handlers validate information, identify risk indicators and route claims more accurately. LexisNexis Risk Solutions says the capabilities are also intended to support more consistent decision-making, reduce friction and avoid unnecessary referrals.

Richer, More Connected Data

Carla McDonald, Director of Product Management, LexisNexis Risk Solutions.

“The quality of decision-making in the first few minutes of a claim shapes everything: triage, indemnity spend, customer experience and loss ratios,” comments Carla McDonald, Director of Product Management, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. “Yet many of those decisions are still made without access to the full picture. By bringing richer, more connected data into the claims journey earlier, we can help insurance providers and their partners make more informed decisions from the outset, reducing the need for rework and helping to get claims right the first time. That means more efficient decisions, fairer outcomes and a more consistent customer experience at the center of every claim.”

The first claims intelligence solutions include LexisNexis Claims Datafill, a prefill solution that provides contact details and information on claimants or other involved parties at FNOL; LexisNexis Windscreen Check, which provides VIN-level insight into windscreen features and ADAS systems for a specific vehicle; and LexisNexis Vehicle Insights for Claims, which delivers real-time vehicle information at FNOL and triage, including make, model, mileage, MOT status and vehicle valuation data.
