Rockford Mutual Insurance Company (Rockford, Ill.), a regional multi-line provider of auto, home, and business insurance in Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin, has completed a successful quality assurance (QA) implementation undertaken by vendor partner ITS, a Dallas-based insurance consulting and services firm. Rockford Mutual engaged ITS to implement a proprietary testing methodology and tools for a recent Guidewire InsuranceNow system implementation project.

Chris Belle, President, ITS.

“As a Guidewire partner, ITS knows all of the ins and outs of the Guidewire InsuranceNow system and understood what we were trying to accomplish with this implementation,” comments William Hanby, CIO, Rockford Mutual. “ITS employees have the skills, knowledge, and count-on-me attitude that made the difference in our user acceptance testing and contributed to the success of the project. Every ITS consultant we engaged performed with excellence and had a vested interest in the final quality of the system. Our project would not have been as successful without the services of ITS.”

The scope of the testing project included the implementation of the ITS test management system to help Rockford Mutual track and measure the testing coverage and quality metrics which were critical to the company’s final go-live readiness decision, the vendor reports. During the project, ITS managed the testing and defect process and created over 3,000 test cases for ten lines of business in three states. Test cases covered underwriting, rating, billing, claims, and interfaces using ITS’s proprietary test case templates by line of business and functional area.

Streamlined QA Process

“Rockford Mutual was very open to our recommendations from the very beginning and recognized the importance of having a streamlined QA process,” comments Chris Belle, president of ITS. “The synergy from the close relationships our team developed with the Rockford Mutual staff helped ensure a successful project.”
