Madison Mutual Insurance (Edwardsville, Ill.) has expanded its implementation of ISCS’s (San Jose, Calif.) SurePower Innovation cloud-based core insurance system suite to new states. Having historically served policyholders in Illinois, the carrier recently embarked on a geographic expansion into Wisconsin and Missouri.
“The state expansion did not interrupt our ability to conduct business,” says Ken Somogyi, Director of IT, Madison Mutual. “The configurability of SurePower Innovation has also allowed us to quickly make changes once we find necessary changes from our production experience. And our partners at ISCS were there with us every step of the way.”
Madison Mutual’s expansion would have been far more difficult with its legacy system, which required what a vendor statement characterizes as a very hands-on approach and manual underwriting. After implementing SurePower Innovation in Jan. 2012, the insurer Madison Mutual achieved an 80-percent straight-through processing goal within six months.

“Just as consumer demands change, the needs of personal lines insurers such as Madison Mutual change,” comments Andy Scurto, president of ISCS. “At ISCS, we are constantly working to stay ahead of the market in terms of technology needs and functionality, and that work ensures that we, and our customers, stay competitive today and into the future.”
