iPipeline U.K. (Cheltenham, Gloucestershire), a provider of solutions and services to the life and pensions market, has announced expanded quoting capability via the vendor’s SolutionBuilder quote-and-apply solution, now including Buildings and Contents and accident, sickness and unemployment (ASU) insurance.
The vendor launched the ability to quote general insurance via SolutionBuilder in Jan. 2018. Paymentshield, a Southport, Merseyside-based insurance distributor and administrator, has since joined the service, allowing advisers to quote Buildings and Contents insurance, initially with its launch partner Openwork (Swindon, Wiltshire), followed by a wider release to the whole of market.
iPipeline reports that it has added the capability at the request of networks and intermediary firms. The ability to quote additional products within one system also allows advisers to utilize existing client data, with no need to re-key in a separate quoting system, the vendor elaborates.
The vendor describes SolutionBuilder as a client-centric research, quote and apply solution which enables advisers to fully assess their clients’ protection needs. Delivering a complete service, the solution supports all views of single and multi-benefit products so that advisers can quickly identify and recommend the right cover for each client’s protection needs and budget.
Wider Protection Coverage
Over the next few months, SolutionBuilder will also feature the ability for advisers to quote for wider protection coverage, which will include ASU insurance.
“When you factor in how time poor advisers are in today’s world, being able to consider and secure life and general insurance at the same time, utilizing one set of client data, speeds up the process no end, ensuring clients are better protected in a fast, continuous way,” comments Ian Teague, Managing Director at iPipeline “These are products that should be being considered as part of the protection package, especially when a mortgage is being arranged. Having the products available there and then, will make it much more likely for advisers to add into their advice portfolio—especially when they can see the quality and competitiveness of these products.”
Following the success Openwork experienced using SolutionBuilder for the protection side of its business, the firm is applying its understanding and learnings to the General Insurance side, according to Paul Shearman, Mortgage, Protection and GI Proposition Director, Openwork. “With SolutionBuilder already integrated with OWS, our Client Management System, our advisers will be able to fully address the total cost of protecting the client’s mortgaged property within one system,” he says. “We are confident that this integration will further enhance our advisers’ ability to protect their clients further.”
Technology Key to Securing Most Appropriate Coverage
“Integrating with SolutionBuilder is remodelling the way advisers can service their clients’ wider protection needs,” comments James Watson, Sales Director, Paymentshield. “It’s another demonstration that technology is key to making it easier for advisers to address their clients’ general insurance requirements at every opportunity and more importantly secure the most appropriate cover.”
