DropIn, Inc., a Los Angeles-based provider of an on-demand live video platform for auto and home insurance, using smartphones and drones, has named Emilio Figueroa CEO of insurance. The vendor characterizes the appointment as timed to an opportunity for significant growth of DropIn, as the company looks to expand its presence in the insurance industry. DropIn also has an auto business segment.

A property/casualty industry veteran of nearly three decades, Figueroa recently led the creation of an insurance program for a risk management venture firm, and previously led innovation and creation across multiple insurance verticals ranging from MGA, an association captive, and multiple reinsurance firms.
“I am honored to be joining DropIn at such a turning point,” Figueroa comments. “I am looking forward to my new role and the opportunities that lie ahead. It’s very exciting to be leading a company that is taking part in shaping the future of the insurance industry. The fact that DropIn can provide real time remote claim management from drones, during our current climate state, is game changing.”
The DropIn live video platform, founded in 2015 by entrepreneur Louis Ziskin, includes Drone, Droperator, and ClaimsDirect capabilities.
ClaimsDirect allows each insurers to communicate with claimants using a live video stream that can be directed by the insurer to capture all photos and videos that are required. The insured’s photos and videos are uploaded to the DropIn platform where they are stored. Measurements can be extracted and can be readily downloaded.
Double-Digit Track Record
The platform also offers a fleet of “Droperators” (1,200 of which are FAA 107 licensed drone pilots) as an on-demand workforce. The insurer enters in the address of the claim, and the Droperator, within that radius, receives the notification and responds to the call.
“Emilio has a double digit track record of increasing revenue and decreasing loss ratios,” comments Ziskin. “I’m a numbers guy, and that makes sense to me.”
