Insurify (Cambridge, Mass.) has released an upgrade to its ChatGPT insurance comparison plugin, adding real-time personalized auto insurance quotes and in-chat shopping capabilities.
The upgraded plugin lets consumers compare prices, coverage details and payment schedules from multiple carriers within a ChatGPT conversation, according to an Insurify statement. Users can also ask coverage questions and take the next step toward purchasing coverage without leaving the chat.

Car insurance shoppers provide information about themselves, their vehicles and their coverage needs. Insurify says the plugin then uses that information to return real-time quotes in the ChatGPT conversation. Depending on the carrier, shoppers can proceed to the insurer’s website or complete the purchase through Insurify’s agency.

Insurify says the upgrade builds on the first version of its ChatGPT plugin, formerly referred to as an app, which launched in February 2026. The company describes that release as the first insurance app in ChatGPT and one of the first 100 apps in OpenAI’s directory.
Expanded Experience
The new version expands the experience from rate estimates and insurer comparisons to a fuller shopping workflow with a path to purchase. Insurify says ChatGPT-referred traffic to its site grew 151 percent in the six months after the February launch, while revenue from those visitors grew 212 percent.
The company also says the share of new Insurify customers who reported discovering the brand through ChatGPT and AI conversations rose from 0.15 percent in the first half of 2025 to 5.7 percent in the first half of 2026.
The Insurify ChatGPT insurance comparison plugin currently supports shoppers in Arizona, Kentucky, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont and Wisconsin. Insurify says it plans to expand availability to more than 40 states by the end of 2026.
Insurify provides an online insurance marketplace for comparing and buying auto, home, pet and renters insurance. The company says it has more than 500 carrier integrations across more than 120 insurance partners and has served more than 250 million quotes since 2016.
