Infogix (Naperville, Ill.) announced today at the IASA Annual Educational Conference and Business Show in Las Vegs the availability of its data integrity and controls platform for use with the claims, billing and policy modules of Guidewire InsuranceSuite. The controls help P&C carriers to streamline integration with one or more Guidewire modules in order to enhance data governance and compliance. The offering is currently in use at several insurers, such as American Family Insurance, providing enterprise data controls across the core systems business process to ensure data integrity across all systems, according to the vendor.

Sid Wadhwa, Cynosure co-founder and director of core systems transformation, and a subject matter expert on Guidewire solutions and integration challenges describes Infogix’s controls as demonstrating a holistic approach to the data, offering end-to-end standardized controls along with reporting visibility. “I believe the Infogix approach not only ensures the quality of the data, but it also makes data quality easier to maintain and less costly than building ETL and SQL tools to interface with a myriad of internal and external systems with which core systems typically interface,” Wadhwa comments.
Infogix controls work in concert with the Guidewire InsuranceSuite to optimize reconciliation within the core system modules and inbound and outbound third party data sources that interface with these systems, according to the vendor. In those environments, Infogix controls monitor the end-to-end flow of data to provide:
- Real-time, end-to-end process level performance measurement and visibility across disparate systems and data silos;
- Independent, automated controls integrated seamlessly into most IT infrastructures;
- Automated reporting, reconciliation and controls across critical business processes;
- Rapid ROI through the monetization of big data with purpose-built analytics; and
- Accurate, trustworthy data supporting risk management, data governance and compliance initiatives.
“Whether using a Guidewire solution, another packaged offering, or an in house developed core system, insurance providers are looking to improve data quality as part of a larger strategic shift toward IT modernization,” comments Paul Skordilis, executive VP, Infogix. “The data explosion that every industry is experiencing, including insurance, is magnifying the need for controls to stop poor data quality at the front door so that it does not propagate through the business process causing customer and compliance issues.”
