HDI Global US (Chicago) has appointed Bevan Greibesland Chief Underwriting Officer, Specialty Lines, and Bruce Griffin Chief Underwriting Officer, Long Tail Lines.
The appointments are part of HDI Global’s Xcelerate29 strategy and its broader effort to expand in the U.S. market, according to an HDI Global statement. The company says the appointments follow recently announced leadership and organizational changes intended to strengthen client centricity and expand its presence in the U.S.
Specialty Lines Expansion
Greibesland, who joined HDI in March 2025, will be responsible for the company’s U.S. Specialty Lines business, including Architects & Engineers, Equine and Delegated Authority. She will also help expand additional specialty capabilities in the U.S. market, including Credit & Political Risk and products offered through HDI’s global network, such as aviation, surety and mining.
“The U.S. market presents significant opportunities for growth, and I am excited to help further expand HDI’s specialty capabilities and market presence,” comments Greibesland. “HDI combines underwriting excellence with a collaborative, client-focused approach and the strength of a truly global platform. We see significant opportunities to support clients with solutions that address increasingly complex risks.”
Long-Tail Casualty Growth
Griffin, who joined HDI in August 2025, brings more than three decades of experience in commercial casualty insurance. As Chief Underwriting Officer, Long Tail Lines, he will focus on building a profitable and sustainable casualty portfolio across excess casualty, primary casualty, construction, environmental, life sciences, multinational business and cyber.
“HDI has a clear strategic vision for the U.S. market and the financial strength to support long-term investment and growth,” comments Griffin. “Our combination of local underwriting expertise and multinational capabilities is a powerful differentiator. Together with the team, my focus will be on building a disciplined and sustainable casualty portfolio that delivers long-term value for clients, brokers and business partners.”
Commitment to Profitable, Long-Term Growth
HDI Global says the appointments underscore its continued investment in the U.S. market and its commitment to profitable, long-term growth.
“The U.S. is a key growth market for HDI Global and central to our Xcelerate29 strategy,” comments Dr. Mukadder Erdönmez, Member of the HDI Global SE Executive Board, responsible for Liability, Motor, Cyber and the U.S. market. “As we continue to expand our presence in the United States, we are investing in the expertise and capabilities needed to deliver long-term value to our brokers and clients. Bevan and Bruce bring deep market knowledge and underwriting excellence that will further strengthen our Specialty and Casualty offerings and support our ambition to be the preferred Partner in Transformation for our clients.”
