Hastings Direct Selects Guidewire InsuranceSuite as Transformation Platform

The U.K.-based personal lines carrier will use InsuranceSuite as its new platform for underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing, rating and client data.

Personal lines broker Hastings Direct (Bexhill-on-Sea, England), has selected Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) InsuranceSuite as its new platform for underwriting, policy administration, claims, billing rating and client data.

“Hastings Direct undertook a rigorous evaluation exercise before choosing Guidewire,” comments David Walker, director of risk and business services, Hastings Direct. “We are confident that InsuranceSuite is the right technology to support our customer and commercial objectives, in addition to growing our business sustainably and securely.”

Hastings Direct is a division of Hastings Insurance Services Limited which markets a variety of personal lines insurance products, including auto, motorcycle, home, and pet insurance direct to consumers. The carrier has over 1.7 million customers and employs around 1,800 people. Hastings direct was recently voted Car Insurer Provider of the Year for the third year in a row. The carrier markets its products on what it characterizes as a straightforward service and product proposition that focuses on customer service and low price for quality insurance.
