Guidewire (San Mateo, Calif.) has launched Qusar, a new release that introduces an Agentic Framework for building, deploying and managing AI agents on Guidewire Cloud Platform.

The framework lets insurers choose the AI model appropriate to a given task and gives agents secure, real-time access to policy, claims and billing data and workflows, according to a Guidewire statement. Guidewire says the release is intended to help insurers automate multi-step processes while maintaining control over operational and compliance requirements.
“Insurers are increasingly recognizing that AI value comes from deep integration with core business processes, not from isolated experimentation,” comments Karlyn Carnahan, Executive Partner, Celent. “Agentic Framework addresses this directly by letting insurers deploy AI within their existing systems and workflows while maintaining operational control and compliance.”
Qusar also introduces Guidewire-developed agents for claims and underwriting workflows. Claim Summarization for ProNavigator provides adjusters with claim summaries to reduce manual note review. Policy Change for ProNavigator helps underwriters and customer service representatives complete policy changes faster. Agentic First Notice of Loss guides claimants through first notice of loss using conversational AI voice to capture key claim details.

Developer and Builder Assistants
The Qusar release also introduces Guidewire Developer and Builder Assistants designed to understand the Guidewire code base, programming languages, design patterns and configurations.

For application development, the assistants support Gosu, integrations, Jutro and Functions. For data and product work, Data Curation Assistant for Data Studio converts plain language into SQL, while Product Design Assistant for Advanced Product Designer helps automate insurance product configuration, according to Guidewire.

Guidewire says the 40 percent productivity comparison is based on internal benchmarks comparing Guidewire Developer Assistants with generic coding assistants across standard configuration tasks.
Certain Qusar release features may not be available in all regions. Guidewire says some features are available only to Early Access or Restricted Availability customers.
