Former Crump CEO Rob Carney to Lead Transamerica’s Individual Solutions Distribution

As Chief Distribution Officer for its Individual Solutions division, Carney will spearhead distribution strategy for the Transamerica’s life insurance, annuities, and mutual fund products.

Transamerica, a Baltimore-based life insurance, retirement and investment company, has announced the appointment of Rob Carney as Chief Distribution Officer for its Individual Solutions division. The division produces and distributes Transamerica’s life insurance and annuity products and is responsible for the distribution of Transamerica’s mutual funds, according to a Transamerica statement.

Carney brings more than 30 years of financial services sales leadership experience working in life, annuities, retirement and employee benefits. Throughout his career he has led organizations through major transformational change, resulting in significant growth, according to the statement.

Carney will lead the distribution strategy for Transamerica’s life, annuities and mutual fund products working with the brokerage and bank channels as well as independent agency networks including World Financial Group (WFG). Carney has held executive leadership positions for almost 20 years, most recently serving as the CEO of CRC Group’s Life, Retirement, and Benefits Solutions division and the CEO of Crump Life Insurance Services, simultaneously.

Carney holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from Rutgers University and a Master of Business Administration from Seton Hall University. He serves as a board director of Finseca, a professional trade association, and is a member of its advocacy committee. Carney also holds Series 6 and 26 FINRA licenses.
