FBL Financial Names “Innovative” Executive Ray Wasileski COO of Life Companies

During his career at FBL, Wasilewski has been a driver of many innovations and has held senior management roles in IT both for the corporation as a whole and at its former subsidiary EquiTrust Life.

FBL Financial Group (West Des Moines, Iowa) has named Raymond W. Wasilewski chief operating officer of its Life Companies, in which capacity he will oversee the operations of Farm Bureau Life Insurance Company, FBL’s primary operating subsidiary.

FBL Financial Group CEO James P. Brannen characterizes Wasilewski as having been the driving force behind many innovations since joining the company in 1997. “He’s been a significant asset to FBL’s management team, executing major foundational initiatives that impact FBL’s long-term viability and success,” Brannen comments. “Ray’s appointment to lead Farm Bureau Life’s operations reflects his insurance expertise, as well as analytical and leadership skills, which Ray has clearly demonstrated in his varied roles at FBL.”

In Wasilweski’s previous role as FBL’s chief administrative officer, to which he was appointed May 2013, he was responsible for the company’s Information Technology, Human Resources and Agency Services departments. Wasilewski was previously vice president of Information Technology from August 2011 to May 2013, and was on the senior leadership team of FBL’s former subsidiary EquiTrust Life, from June 2003 to August 2011, including holding the role of vice president of Information Technology from March 2008 to August 2011.
