Employers Holdings, Inc. (Reno, Nev.) has named Bertrum Carroll VP and chief information security officer. In his new role, Carroll will lead EMPLOYERS’ strategic security program and provide operational support for security infrastructure. His duties include responsibility for maintaining a corporate-wide information security program to ensure information assets are adequately protected while supporting the business objectives of EMPLOYERS. Carroll is based in EMPLOYERS’ Reno office.
Carroll has 30 years of experience in various information security roles, including in the U.S. Army. He previously served as director, global information security operations for SC Johnson. He holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a Master’s degree in Administration and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science as well as multiple certifications in cyber security, audit, and risk management.
A retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, Carroll has 27 Years military service with security clearance. Over the course of his military career, Carroll gained expertise in automation & communication systems, logistics support, project planning, and personal support. He was also a certified Instructor to general officers as well as providing public affairs support.
