EIS (San Francisco), a SaaS core platform provider to the insurance industry, has launched AbsenceLink, a modular solution designed to modernize disability and leave management for insurance carriers and their employer clients. Developed in partnership with AbsenceSoft (Golden, Colo.), AbsenceLink offers a unified case view, built-in compliance logic, and end-to-end automation to reduce administrative burdens and improve the employee experience, according to a joint statement from the companies.
The vendors note that disability and leave administration often requires coordination across fragmented systems, evolving regulations, and growing employee expectations. They say that AbsenceLink addresses these challenges with a cloud-native, API-driven design that integrates with any core insurance or HR platform.
“When an employee is already ill or injured, it is not the time to add a complex process that requires a lot of effort on their part,” says Tom Scales, principal analyst, Celent (Boston). “Finding simple ways to link the claim to the absence and combining it with an easy-to-understand process lets an employer provide a better experience.”
AbsenceLink is powered by AbsenceSoft’s Compliance Engine and employer-focused workflow capabilities, combined with EIS’s MACH-based infrastructure. The solution is designed to support event-based case management across multiple benefits lines, enable real-time regulatory compliance, and deliver intuitive self-service tools for employees.
“The market has consistently told us that existing leave solutions often overlook the real-world needs of employers,” comments Seth Turner, founder and senior advisor, AbsenceSoft. “Carriers have asked us to enter this space because the status quo focuses too much on internal processes and not enough on delivering a great experience to employers and their employees. This partnership with EIS enables us to focus on our core strengths and deliver a unified solution that truly meets the needs of the market.”
Flexible Integration, Seamless Connectivity
AbsenceLink’s features include flexible integration with claims systems, single-case views for disability and leave events, real-time compliance tracking, predictive analytics, and seamless connectivity with HR systems such as payroll and enrollment.
“This launch marks a pivotal moment in our mission to redefine the future of absence and disability management,” says Mike Dwyer, chief technology officer, EIS. “AbsenceLink enhances our OneSuite platform by introducing critical functionalities tailored to the evolving requirements of today’s carriers and employers. By combining insurer expertise with employer-centric innovation, we’re empowering our clients to achieve greater operational excellence and improved employee experiences.”
