Van Biert joins Duck Creek from Skillsoft, a Nashua, N.H.-based educational technology company, where he spent more than 15 years. Serving in both general management and sales and marketing leadership roles, Van Biert helped grow the company from annual sales of $19 million in 2001 to more than $400 million in 2014 when the company was acquired by private equity.

“My real passion is helping define and execute growth strategies that deliver significant value to all stakeholders,” comments Van Biert. “With backing from a world class firm like Apax; the recent acquisition of other industry leader, Agencyport Software; and a backdrop of exploding opportunity in InsurTech, Duck Creek is uniquely positioned to help guide P&C carriers to achieve levels of efficiency, customer retention, and growth that have not been possible before now. I’m thrilled to be part of this industry at such a pivotal moment, and particularly proud to be joining a group with the kind of strong track record and reputation that Duck Creek has.”

Deep Business Development and SaaS Experience

“Eugene’s deep experience both with growing a company and delivery of the SaaS model to enterprise businesses made him a clear standout for us,” comments Michael A. Jackowski, CEO, Duck Creek Technologies. “The way insurance is bought, processed and serviced is changing faster today than ever in the history of the industry. These changes are the results of shifting trends and behaviors outside of insurance as well as an extraordinary rate of change in technology itself. Eugene’s SaaS experience outside of insurance is a great fit for Duck Creek as we lead the way in the brave new world of P&C.”
