Datos Insights (Boston) has named Madeline Bailey Executive Principal of InsTech, the London-based insurance innovation community and advisory platform Datos Insights acquired in 2025.
Bailey will join the InsTech Executive Leadership Team and work with Matthew Grant and Robin Merttens to lead the next phase of InsTech’s growth and development, according to a Datos Insights statement.
Bailey brings more than two decades of experience across insurance, technology, consulting and innovation. She previously served as Global Head of Strategic Initiatives at MS Amlin, where she led transformation, digital strategy and innovation initiatives across the specialty insurance market. She also served as Co-Head of Technology Consulting at Norton Rose Fulbright, advising clients on disruptive technologies, and has worked with insurance technology startups on building, scaling and commercializing new solutions.
“Maddy’s deep relationships across the insurance ecosystem will be invaluable,” comments Robin Merttens, Executive Chairman, InsTech. “She brings both the credibility of a practitioner and the discipline of someone who’s built businesses from the ground up.”
Datos says Bailey has been part of the InsTech community since its early days as a client. In her new role, she will be responsible for growing the InsTech community, strengthening member engagement, expanding strategic relationships and supporting InsTech’s role as a platform connecting insurers, brokers, MGAs, technology providers and service partners.
“Maddy’s expertise and genuine understanding of the insurance market make her ideal to lead InsTech forward,” comments Kavitha Venkita, CEO, Datos Insights. “Her appointment strengthens our ability to deliver InsTech’s core promise: practical, community-led insight that helps the industry adopt innovation that works.”
Independent, Community-Led Culture
Datos acquired InsTech in 2025, combining InsTech’s community of senior insurance executives with Datos’ research, data and U.S. market presence. Datos says Bailey’s appointment supports its effort to maintain InsTech’s independent, community-led culture while scaling its advisory and research offerings.
“I’m excited to help InsTech build on the momentum we’ve created,” comments Bailey. “Combining InsTech’s trusted community with Datos’ proprietary data and research capabilities creates a unique platform to help insurers, brokers, MGAs, and technology leaders make better decisions and drive meaningful change.”
