FRISS (Chicago/Utrecht, Netherlands), a provider of AI-powered fraud and risk analytics for property/casualty insurers, has named Dan Gumpright Global VP of Products. In his new role, Gumpright is tasked with driving the company’s global development teams to strengthen FRISS’s solutions.
Gumpright spent nearly a decade at BAE Systems (London) where he held the position of Head of Global Insurance Product Management for several years. He was fully responsible for product design, strategy, revenue, margin, and overall product performance. He later helped the team at Truepic develop their Insurance Technology Division. Gumpright speaks regularly as a thought leader at insurance conferences worldwide including the International Association of Special Investigation Units annual conference in 2018 and 2019.
“Dan brings a vast, global knowledge of insurance fraud and innovative ways to combat it,” comments Jeroen Morrenhof, CEO and co-founder, FRISS. “His magnetic personality allows him to effortlessly connect with industry leaders across technology providers and carriers, thoroughly understanding what’s needed to compete in an increasingly digital age. I’ve known Dan for several years and it’s clear that the customer is his first and only priority. I know he will challenge our teams to ensure FRISS keeps delivering value to our growing customer community and will constantly seek new opportunities on our journey to become the global standard for fraud detection.”
As FRISS’s VP of product will apply his understanding of global markets and focus on products that provide out-of-the-box solutions across numerous markets while localizing the features needed to maximize effectiveness in specific regions, according to the vendor’s announcement of his appointment.
Helping Carriers Break the Economic Fraud Cycle
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the FRISS team. I’ve admired their work for years and look forward to having a say in the innovative direction in which they continue to go,” comments Gumpright. “Their solutions provide a fully-integrated, hybrid combination of powerful AI and over 600 out-of-the-box risk and fraud indicators, that are used by insurers for real-time risk assessment and fraud detection at underwriting, claims and special investigation units.”
“As insurance carriers continue move towards low-touch, touchless and straight-through processes, the FRISS Score is going to be a key addition to their workflows,” Gumpright continues. “With this, FRISS helps tackle the $80 billion-dollar problem that insurance fraud is in the US alone, with untold waste across the globe. It damages a carrier’s bottom line, but more than that it hurts the honest customers and businesses who rely on insurance to live their daily lives. It’s my mission on this team to help carriers break this cycle, and I’m looking forward to having a lot of fun while I’m at it.”
