CM Vantage Specialty Insurance Company (Madison, Wisc.), a wholly owned subsidiary of Church Mutual Insurance Company (Merrill, Wisc.) has deployed Sunlight Solutions’ (Minneapolis) Sunlight Suite for rating, policy issuance, billing, producer management, and claims in under six months as part of a core transformation effort. The system now handles the insurer’s entire book of business and administrative functions across 50 states on a single platform.

As its target legacy replacement platform, the insurer sought a modern web-based rating, policy issuance, billing and claims solution that could scale with expected growth. Other requirements identified by the carrier are as follows, according to a Sunlight Solutions statement:

  • the option to deploy on premise or in the cloud;
  • the ability to launch multiple specialty lines of business in 50 states within six months;
  • the delivery of an excellent customer experience; and,
  • self-sufficiency and minimal dependence on the software provider.

“Sunlight Suite’s high degree of configuration empowers business people to create and manage products,” comments John Black, Sr., Managing Director, CM Vantage. “Sunlight is the first software provider we have seen to offer what we consider a modern platform that fully supports the insurance business.”

Sunlight Solutions describes the Sunlight Suite as an enterprise-class web-based end-to-end insurance solution driven by business needs using market standard technology. The vendor reports that it uses an agile implementation methodology and “common team” approach to enable Sunlight customers to not only participate, but also to see the progress during every step of an implementation initiative. The vendor asserts that the Suite has the flexibility to handle virtually any line of business and functionality, while having the right structure to scale. Sunlight Solutions says it offers guaranteed delivery timeliness based on the client’s project as well as business needs.

Empowering Business Users

“We congratulate the CM Vantage team on the success of the project and for the opportunity to play a role in helping them to achieve their business goals,” Didier Lamour, CEO, Sunlight Solutions, stated. “We are confident our product is a good fit for companies dedicated to meeting the needs of their customers and producers.  We are committed to providing insurers of all sizes with advanced capabilities and empowering business users to setup and manage insurance products without the need for technical knowledge.”
