Cover Whale Names Bill Fahrner Chief Underwriting Officer

Seasoned insurance executive brings nearly 30 years of insurance operating leadership to Cover Whale’s digitally driven underwriting process.

Cover Whale Insurance Solutions, Inc., a New York-based InsurTech MGA focused on commercial auto, has announced the appointment of Bill Fahrner, an insurance and technology veteran of nearly 30 years, as Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO).

Fahrner began his underwriting career at AIG where he rose to the rank of Casualty Underwriting Officer for the Americas. He later worked on InsurTech platforms at AIG’s Blackboard Insurance where he led the Insurance Product Development team to establish the company’s proprietary underwriting platform.

Most recently, Fahrner served as Chief Insurance Officer at Joyn Insurance (New York). Fahrner’s track record of combining technology-enhanced risk analysis with traditional underwriting principles aligns with Cover Whale’s mission of driving industry-leading loss ratios in a sustainable manner, according to a company statement on his appointment.
