Corgi Insurance (San Francisco) has launched Corgi Insurance Company Inc., an admitted insurance carrier expanding the group’s commercial lines capabilities for small business risks.

The new carrier adds to Corgi’s existing insurance structures, which the company says include risk retention groups, reinsurers, captives and managing general agencies. Policies written on an admitted basis may be eligible for protection from applicable state guaranty associations, subject to statutory limits and exclusions.

Corgi says it has filed its first products for the carrier, with planned offerings targeting technology companies, professional and administrative offices, retail stores, personal services businesses, self-storage facilities, restaurants, wholesalers and distributors, condominium and homeowners associations, and small apartment buildings and residential rental properties.

“Corgi is built to be full-stack, and we look forward to expanding what we can write on this paper as we bring more products to market,” says Emily Yuan, Co-Founder, COO, Corgi Insurance.
