Core Travel Insurance (New Lebanon, N.Y.) has launched a digital platform built by Openkoda (Wrocław, Poland) to support group travel medical insurance for organizations, brokers and insured travelers.

Fiona Lally, CEO, Core Travel Insurance.

The platform supports policy management, broker and client portals, traveler coverage review, digital payments for optional upgrades and the migration of existing clients. It also uses APIs to integrate with travel assistance providers and third-party administrators, according to a statement from the companies.

Core Travel provides baseline group travel coverage for organizations while allowing individual travelers to buy itinerary-specific upgrades without adding administrative work for the sponsoring organization. The company says its patented model combines group travel insurance coverage with individualized enhancements.

Travelers can use the platform to review their arranged coverage and purchase additional protection, including higher limits, enhanced baggage, travel delay and trip extension coverage. Upgrade pricing is tailored to the traveler’s itinerary.

“Launching this platform is a key step in transforming the way we serve organizations and travelers,” comments Fiona Lally, CEO, Core Travel Insurance. “We needed a solution that paired excellent group travel insurance with our patented, scalable model for personalized traveler upgrades. We required a smooth migration of our existing clients along the way. With Openkoda, we’ve gone from implementation to production in only eight weeks.”

Supporting Broker Distribution

Arkadiusz Drysch, CEO, Openkoda.

The new platform gives Core Travel a digital foundation for policy administration, broker distribution and traveler self-service within a single environment. The companies say the system is designed to support organizations with large numbers of insured travelers while giving brokers a way to generate revenue from traveler-selected upgrades.

Openkoda says the platform also includes AI capabilities intended to help travelers make upgrade selections, support platform operations and provide access to business insights.

“We are proud to support Core Travel Insurance in launching a platform that combines speed, flexibility, and customer-focused innovation,” comments Arkadiusz Drysch, CEO, Openkoda. “This project demonstrates how modern platforms, enhanced with AI capabilities, can reduce delivery time, strengthen reporting, and help insurers bring differentiated digital products to market faster.”
