CNA reports today that it has named Dino E. Robusto as CEO, effective on or about December 1, 2016. Robusto is currently executive VP and president of commercial and specialty lines at Chubb and will remain in that position through Nov. 30. Robusto will succeed Thomas F. Motamed who will retire at the end of 2016. Motamed will continue as chairman and chief executive officer until Robusto joins CNA.
Robusto joins CNA after almost 30 years at The Chubb Corporation. He first arrived at Chubb in 1986 as a commercial lines underwriter and went on to hold a various leadership positions there including chief claims officer, chief field operations officer for commercial lines, and eventually. In his current role as executive VP and president of their commercial and specialty lines he is also responsible for information technology and innovation.

We feel that Dino has the qualities necessary to lead CNA into its next phase of growth, building on the phenomenal work that Tom has done over the past seven years.”

Motamed, and who has served as CNA’s CEO since 2009, characterizes Robusto as a top-tier, proven insurance leader. “I am proud to hand over the reins to Dino, and I am confident he will continue the progress the CNA team has made over the past several years,” he comments.
