Roost (Sunnyvale, Calif.), a provider of home telematics solutions, has announced that CFM Insurance (Concordia, Mo.) has joined the vendor’s Home Telematics Program (HTP), which applies advanced analytics to yield insights into the effect of home installation of Roost smart sensors on fire and water loss mitigation as well as customer engagement. Other insurers participating in the Program include State Auto (Columbus, Ohio), Country Financial (Bloomington, Ill.), and Encompass Insurance (Northbrook, Ill.).
“We are thrilled to have CFM Insurance, join the HTP and enjoy the shared benefits of this unique home telematics industry group,” says Roel Peeters, CEO, Roost. “By sharing insights and data, the HTP will develop best practices for the deployment of smart sensors in the home, deliver valuable insights into mitigating loss costs and enabling meaningful engagement between insurers and their valued customers.”
As a member of the HTP, CFM Insurance will deploy various kits of Roost Smart Sensors, including the Roost Smart 9V Battery (for smoke alarms) and the Roost Smart Water Leak and Freeze Detector to a set of their policyholders. The devices deliver notifications to customers’ smartphones when a suspected water leak or fire event occurs.
Better Understanding Loss-Mitigation Impact
“To maintain our status as one of the best property and casualty insurers in the State of Missouri, we are continuously focused on how to improve the insurance experience,” comments Jake Black, President and CEO, CFM Insurance. “The partnership with Roost allows us to offer a range of smart home sensors to our members and better understand their loss-mitigating impact.”
