CLARA Analytics (Santa Clara, Calif.), a leading provider of artificial intelligence-powered technology solutions to the commercial insurance industry, has announced its hiring of Tom Warden as Chief Insurance and Science Officer to oversee CLARA’s scientific, technological and research operations. He will report to recently appointed CLARA CEO Heather H. Wilson.

Heather H. Wilson, CEO, CLARA Analytics.

“Underwriting profitability and claims excellence are a focus for all carriers. Tom understands this and has demonstrated through his body of work that strategic applications of AI/ML can be game-changing,” comments Wilson. “He is the ideal person to guide CLARA’s data science and insurance solutions efforts as we identify new ways to improve claim outcomes and underwriting results for our clients. We deliver ROI to customers within six months of implementation. Tom’s insights will be instrumental in enhancing this performance and to the expansion of CLARA’s industry-leading product suite and the differentiation of our platform.”

A holder of six patents for his work, Warden has formulated big data and artificial intelligence solutions to enable substantial business growth and increase shareholder value at his previous companies, according to a CLARA statement He has held roles at Allstate (Vice President – Research), AIG (Chief Data Officer/Head of Consumer Data Integration and Analytics) and Employers Insurance (SVP – Chief Data and Analytics Officer). Delivering Realized Value to Customers

Tom Warden, Chief Insurance and Science Officer, CLARA Analytics.

“I am joining CLARA because it’s a great company with a bright future,” comments Warden. “Built from our exclusive contributory datasets of claims, medical providers, and attorneys, our tools help clients improve claims outcomes and assure that injured workers receive the most effective care possible. I have worked in the insurance data science field for more than 35 years and know first-hand how difficult it is to build AI models and deliver their output to those on the front line. Our models enable claims adjusters to handle complex claims more effectively.

CLARA is an InsurTech company that is delivering realized value to its customers every day, and I am thrilled to now be part of a team that will take the company and its customers to new levels of success.”

Warden has MBA from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science from The Ohio State University, where he majored in accounting.
