Citizens Property Insurance (Tallahassee, Fla.), a state-run entity that provides coverage to Florida residents who might not otherwise be able to obtain property insurance, has deployed Guidewire Insurance Suite for underwriting, policy administration, billing, and claims management as part of a transformation initiative.

Citizens’ objectives include modernizing its infrastructure, better managing its business data, and consolidating multiple claims and policy administration systems onto a single platform, according to a Guidewire statement. Citizens has gone live on InsuranceSuite for personal and commercial lines, following an implementation project that involved a total of 70 integration points and was deployed in four phases: claims and policy/billing for Commercial lines, followed by claims and policy/billing for its Personal lines of business.

“Guidewire has been the right partner for our business transformation needs,” comments Kelly Booten, chief of Systems & Operations, Citizens Property Insurance. “We fully migrated from our previous commercial systems. It’s been a strong success from an implementation perspective.”

Among the improvements Citizens has begun to enjoy from the InsuranceSuite deployment are the following, according the vendor:
