CCC Intelligent Solutions (Chicago) plans to integrate technology from recently acquired EvolutionIQ (New York) into its third-party auto casualty portfolio, expanding its use of AI-powered tools for injury claim management.
CCC expects the first product, Medhub for Casualty, to launch in the third quarter of 2025. It will adapt EvolutionIQ’s claims guidance and medical synthesis technology to help casualty adjusters evaluate demand packages more efficiently and accurately.
“Making sense of medical documentation is extremely complex,” comments John Goodson, chief product and technology officer, CCC. “Claims professionals manage hundreds of claims simultaneously, each including hundreds or even thousands of pages of information with continuous updates. EvolutionIQ has pioneered AI-powered medical record synthesis, moving the role of AI beyond simple summarization to surface critical insights that are most important for claims teams to focus and act on. The opportunity to bring EvolutionIQ’s capabilities to our casualty customers was a key rationale for our acquisition, and we’re excited that faster than anticipated progress in this area will enable us to launch solutions this year and deliver smoother and more intelligent experiences for everyone involved.”
Designed to integrate with CCC Injury Evaluation Solutions, Medhub will offer adjusters AI-generated insights with direct source citations to support transparency and auditability. CCC expects future product releases to follow, addressing other use cases across the auto casualty claim lifecycle.
“We developed the Medhub platform for claims professionals to quickly understand the key insights and most actionable information, ensuring every claim is handled with precision,” says Matt Gillespie, VP product, EvolutionIQ. “Basic AI summarization tools fall short because they lack the claim-level nuance, specificity and actionable insights that are tailored to the line of business. With Medhub, our customers in other lines of insurance report more efficient review processes, more accurate summarization and better targeted use of specialists on claims. We can’t wait to bring similar benefits to auto casualty.”
Key features of Medhub for Casualty include the following as described by CCC:
- Efficient medical review for demand packages: Extracts and synthesizes key medical insights to support rapid assessment and strategy.
- Actionable insights for auto casualty: Prioritizes relevant claim information to support timely and precise decision-making.
- Advanced tools for document navigation: Allows users to search and filter large volumes of medical data, including provider notes and treatment history.
